Close To Home.

The lock down means plenty of time to wander in the paddock, where in contrast to the drought bare last season, there is plenty of grass and weeds to harbour insect life. Most visible are Meadow Argus Butterflies, Cabbage Whites, grasshoppers, and the Pasture Day Moths pictured here. The Meadow Argus are very abundant, and males chasing females are often seen.

More than one species of grasshopper is present, and in the absence of identifications the pictures will have to suffice.
