Yeah, yeah, I know this is supposed to be about dragonflies, but things keep happening. Yesterday we were given some very ripe plums to make into jam, some were past it and had to be discarded, so they went over the fence into the paddock. This morning after sitting overnight in the boiler with sugar the plums were on the stove cooking down, and in between stirring we looked out to see that the thrown away plums were being thoroughly appreciated by a Pied Currawong and two Satin Bowerbirds. The Curra preferred to take his to the dinner table and eat in style, while the Bowers just tucked in where they were. We’ve just sampled some of the jam on fresh bread, delicious!
